Through our Project:SELF-START (PSS) program, we provide opportunities for youth aging out of foster care (age 16-24) to create an environment for personal development. At the core of our program, we offer a circle of support through our Influencer mentoring program and 1:1 sustainable mentoring relationships; partnering the youth we serve with a loving, supportive mentor.
We provide ongoing trainings and assistance surrounding stability, career exploration and mindfulness to build capacity to connect, support, and empower youth in our program. For each youth in our program, we create a comprehensive transition planning process focused on the development of independent living skills in areas such as:
• Establishing safe, stable, and affordable housing
• Accessing health insurance and healthcare services
• Completing an educational/vocational training program
• Pursuing employment opportunities
• Creating healthy, permanent, connections
The Colorado Teen Project supports a positive journey toward opportunity and self-discovery while building community. We collaborate with community organizations who have a commitment to youth in transition and facilitate community building and structure for youth aging out. Our Influencers are people like you who have a talent, sport, resource and time to share. The CTP believes everyone has a gift to share. Consider becoming an Influencer.
